Since you are walking the Shikoku Pilgrimage, why not wear a pilgrim outfit? Locals will be more likely to recognize and accept you as a pilgrim. You can get supplies at stores near the temples or from online stores. Here are two great shops we especially recommend.

Monzen Ichibangai

Located in front of T1 Reizanji, this store is convenient for pilgrims who are starting their pilgrimage from T1. The manager, Mr. Fujita, is an expert in the Shikoku Pilgrimage and has completed the pilgrimage many times. You can ask him not only about pilgrim outfits but also about anything related to the Shikoku Pilgrimage.

Located on the approach to T10 Kirihataji, this family-owned store has supported pilgrims for 130 years. The manager, Mr. Asano, is fluent in English and his store is visited by many foreign pilgrims.
